As an avid mountain biker, ski and snowboard, windsurfer, kiteboarder (and just about any other activity known to snow or surf), William Binegar, MD, realizes that the ability to pursue an active lifestyle is a gift. He very much appreciates the outdoor life Idaho has to offer, so you might see him riding or biking in the Treasure Valley, Sun Valley, or McCall. He knows being inactive due to chronic pain can be both frustrating and debilitating for patients. For that reason, Dr. Binegar has devoted his professional life to pain management and the goal of helping patients eliminate chronic pain and get on with their lives. He offers his services at Pain Care Boise and in Downtown Boise, Idaho.
Dr. Binegar is a native of North Dakota and received his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of North Dakota. He conducted his internship at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dr. Binegar completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2003, Dr. Binegar founded Pain Care Boise, a clinic and outpatient ambulatory surgery center(Medicare and AAAHC certified) dedicated solely to treating pain. Before founding Pain Care Boise, Dr. Binegar was a senior staff Anesthesiologist at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for over ten years. He is board-certified in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, and he recently became the first and only pain physician in Idaho certified in the emerging field of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
Dr. Binegar’s professional memberships and affiliations include the International Association for the Study of Pain, Spine Interventional Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (and Idaho chapter), the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
His medical achievements and professional credentials aside, Dr. Binegar counts his wife Wendy and three children as his greatest passion in life. Through his own family and realizing the enjoyment they receive being active, Dr. Binegar remains focused upon successful outcomes for all of his patients. In addition, he has an unrelenting commitment to exploring every possibility of traditional and alternative medical care for his patients.
